The Modern Newspaper

Your newspaper can say a lot about you, so I’m led to believe. It’s easy to jump to conclusions about the social standing and intellectual levels of those reading a red top paper however like all assumptions they might be completely unfounded. As a commuter into London I gave up reading a daily paper a long time ago – anything I needed to know was provided for free in the Metro. Although balance had to be achieved by catching up with the real new online when I got to work to make sure I hadn’t missed something important. I do still read the papers at the weekend, well I receive them at the weekend and I’m usually still reading through the sections by Thursday the following week. Whilst in general I’m in favour of the tabloid sizing of newspapers I think the weekend allows for some more space to suit a broadsheet. [Read more...]
